 I. Abraham1 Jones was born circa 1804 at Hampshire County, West Virginia, USA. (Based  on the 1850 census his birth
 was circa 1807. According to the 1880 census 1805. His Military Pension record  indicates he was born in 1804,
 Hampshire Co. VA.).1
 Abraham Jones married Eleanor Cooksey, daughter of Leven Cooksey and Ann White, on 14  February 1828 at
 Fauquier County, Virginia, USA. Bond was posted 9 Feb 1828. The bondsmen were Abraham  Jones & Shelton
 Thompson. Leven Cooksey, her father gave his permission for the marriage. the minister  was James Withers a Baptist
 minister. (Return #4 Dcp_0358).2 Could the Shelton Thompson, living next to Rebecca  Jones in Rappahannock, VA be
 Abraham Jones bondsman?

 December 24. Attached to Department of Missouri October, 1861, to February, 1862. 3rd  Brigade, 2nd Division, District
 of Cairo, February, 1862. 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, District of West Tennessee, and  Army of the Tennessee to July.
 1862. 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, District of Corinth, Miss.,to November, 1862. 3rd  Brigade, 2nd Division, District of
 Corinth, Miss., 13th Army Corps (Old), Department of the Tennessee, to December, 1862.  3rd Brigade, District of
 Corinth, 17th Army Corps, to January, 1863. 3rd Brigade, District of Corinth, 16th  Army Corps, to March, 1863.
 SERVICE.-Moved from St. Joseph, Mo., to Cairo, Ill., and Smithland, Ky., January 21- 28, 1862. Operations against Fort
 Henry, Tenn., February 2-6. Capture of Fort Henry February 6. Investment and capture  of Fort Donelson, Tenn.,
 February 12-16. Expedition to Clarksville and Nashville, Tenn., February 19- March 1.  Moved to Pittsburg Landing,
 Tenn., March 25-31. Battle of Shiloh, Tenn., April 6-7. Advance on and siege of  Corinth, Miss., April 29-May 30. Duty at
 Corinth till his discharge.
 He was assigned as a nurse in the hospital area between 28 October 1861 and 1  September 1862.5 He was declared
 unfit for military duty on May 1862.6 He was declared unfit for duty on 14 April 1863.7 Abraham Jones and Hattie Jones lived between 1866 and 1867 at Coshocton County, Ohio,  USA.8 He moved from
 Ohio on 4 March 1876 to St. Paul, Howard County, Nebraska, USA.9 Abraham Jones is listed in the household of Ford Cassingham in the 1880 Census of St.  Paul, Howard County,Nebraska, USA.
